Arts

Grand Haven has a strong connection to the arts. Throughout the downtown area, there is music, visual arts, galleries, art events, murals, public sculptures and community wide art projects. Art is celebrated in Downtown Grand Haven all year long. Wine About Winter takes place in January, featuring a collection of works by western Michigan artists. There is also an art competition during Winterfest.

The annual Grand Haven Art Festival is held the 4th weekend of June, and Art on the Riverfront takes place the 3rd Saturday of August. In the fall, Grand Haven ArtWalk showcases hundreds of art entries during its two and a half week event which includes public painting parties, evening galas, a Youth Competition, student field trips and much more!

Downtown Grand Haven is home to an assortment of art galleries as well. There is C2C Gallery along Washington and Gallery Uptown in the third block of Washington Ave. The Grand Armory at 17 S. 2nd Street is the district’s newest exhibit space and Frame & Mat Shop at 728 Washington has its own collection of paintings by local artists.
