Grand Haven Main Street has a wide assortment of festivals and events year round! In January, there’s Wine About Winter, with local merchants showcasing art by Western Michigan artists, plus wines made by Lemon Creek Winery, 12 Corners Winery, Odd Side Ales, Grand Armory Brewing and other brands too.
Frozen in Time takes place in February, complete with live mannequins depicting “Broadway themed” characters in storefront windows throughout the district.
Restaurant Week takes place the end of February and offers special priced lunch and dinner options at more than 20 Main Street restaurants.
In May, celebrate “all things Kentucky Derby” with Grand Haven’s own Derby Day. Mint Juleps, hors d’ouevres, hat contests, race raffles, silent auctions and a cash bar add to the excitement of watching the Run for the Roses on the big screen with your friends!
Throughout the summer, Grand Haven is host to numerous festivals including the National Coast Guard Festival which attracts thousands of visitors in July and August.
Downtown shops spill out into the streets the 3rd Saturday of August for our annual Sidewalk Sales with plenty of unique finds at bargain prices.
In September and October, Grand Haven ArtWalk occurs, with two weeks of art competitions, public block parties, kids and family activities, and private galas, to name a few activities.
October 31st brings a parade of Trick-or-Treaters to the downtown area businesses for Halloween.
In mid-November, Light Night kicks off our holiday shopping season with a retail open houses and plenty of festivities like free hot cocoa and re-usable shopping bags to the first 500 shoppers.
The Saturday after Thanksgiving, holiday shoppers are encouraged to “Shop Local” in honor of Small Business Saturday.
