We’re Coast Guard City, USA. We have a great waterfront stadium, a charming farmers market, and always new events and things to do. We’re lucky.

“I got into real estate because my husband and I were buying and fixing up houses. I had done so many that I got a builder’s license, and then was encouraged to get my real estate license. I did—while expecting my first child, in 1991. I worked a full-time job at a marina and did real estate on the side. The boat show actually put me into labor! After that, I was home with a newborn, calling people, and ended up being Rookie of the Year my first year.

I’ve always focused more on helping people than chasing numbers. But the numbers followed. I was always number one in my companies, then built a team—first an assistant, then more agents. Now we have six full-time licensed agents and two admins. We’re a small but mighty team—outperforming many larger ones.
I’m proud of my team. Three are family, the rest feel like it. We’ve been the number one RE/MAX team in Michigan for 10 to 15 years, and number one on our board for nearly 20.”

“What makes this Grand Haven community special? First, the people. They’re giving, helpful, and make everyone feel welcome. Second, the amenities—our waterfront, the boardwalk, the lighthouse. I love walking the boardwalk to the pier. Sunsets are my favorite.

We’re Coast Guard City, USA. We have a great waterfront stadium, a charming farmers market, and always new events and things to do. We’re lucky.

I love being downtown, part of this community. My business is downtown, and I’m probably here more than at home. Throughout the day, it’s great to walk to a store for a quick closing gift, grab lunch, or just take a walk to clear my head. Real estate can be stressful, so walking through town, saying hello to friendly faces, and getting coffee—that’s my favorite. I love interacting with people—especially in the morning when walkers come by with their pets. There’s even a lady who walks her cat! I know the dogs by name, and we give them bones. There’s a real camaraderie among the community and fellow business owners—we’re out sweeping, cleaning, doing our part to keep downtown beautiful.”
